I'm hyping this contest because last year I think a buzz-cut lesbian won it, not a Jesus lookalike at all. There just weren't any longhaired Jesii participating.
Hey, this contest has a cash prize, which I think is $100. It's worth entering!
It's the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence anniversary party, Easter bonnet contest, Hunky Jesus contest, and sainthood canonization in Dolores Park on Easter Sunday!. Here's the URL to the info: www.thesisters.org

Re: Hunky Jesus Contest at SPI's Anniversary
Sat, April 1, 2006 - 10:27 AMSomething "scarry" hapened when I clicked on this posting: an advertisement with a picture of an easter lily that said, "A course in miracles", showed up. I can only surmise that some piece of software scanned the original message and found the words "Easter" and "Jesus" and then made a decision that a religiously oriented advertisement "was appropriate".
Wow, I wonder if I include the following words in my post whether or not there will be travel agent advertisements: truck, France, Spain, Italy, travel, vacation, tour, England, Germany, airport, hotel, taxi, Paris, Rome, Greece, suitcase, Alps, Amsterdam, jet, vacation. -

Re: Hunky Jesus Contest at SPI's Anniversary
Tue, April 4, 2006 - 3:37 PMWell, the Sisters have nothing to do with A Course in Miracles.
Being in the spyware, adware, virus removal business, I am guessing that you have accidentally downloaded some adware in the past (from some other website) that saw some words on the SPI page and brought up an ad. I remove this crap for a living, and I can tell you that a *lot* of people have this stuff embedded in their browsers. (It's Javascript, and can as likely show up on a Macintosh as a Windows computer, by the way, as Java knows no platform.)

Re: Hunky Jesus Contest at SPI's Anniversary
Tue, April 4, 2006 - 4:59 PMDavid, I'm sure you're right that a lot of people (including probably myself on my home pc) have adware & spyware they're not aware of. However, I clicked on this thread & got a banner add with an early Renassance picture of Jesus & the text "Did Jesus Really Exist?". I didn't click it, but saw that it was intended to go to "www.TheGodMovie.com". So, I think Tribe does have some software that's doing some scanning (of the thread & maybe even the profile of the user) to make the banner adds fit the context. Lots of websites do this. -
